‘Making the World a Better Place’: Tatyana Kim Meets with HSE University Students in Perm
HSE University in Perm hosted a meeting with Tatyana Kim, head of RWB and founder of Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retail platform. The event took the form of an open dialogue and was devoted to the role of marketplaces in the digitalisation of the economy and the development of small and medium-sized businesses.
Mikhail Khomich, Chief Strategist at VEB.RF, moderated the discussion. His participation helped steer the conversation toward the practical aspects of interaction between business, education, and regional policy.
In her speech, Tatyana Kim outlined the key areas of Wildberries’ development. These include expanding into new international markets, introducing innovative technologies such as unmanned delivery, and creating fundamentally new user experiences. She placed special emphasis on the formation of a ‘trust economy’ and supporting mass entrepreneurship.
‘My mission is to make the world around me a better place. We will be the company that discovers new countries and regions where we can be useful. Our goal is to help people become entrepreneurs by providing them with a secure launch pad and opportunities to learn from real-life examples,’ Tatyana Kim emphasised.
Addressing the students, the founder of Wildberries highlighted the significant entrepreneurial and creative potential of the Perm Region. ‘An entrepreneur is someone who is constantly creating. You have a region rich with talent and all the necessary conditions for starting and growing a business. I really liked Perm. The people here have a special sense of humour, which, I believe, explains the abundance of outstanding projects. We will support them,’ she said.
The visit to HSE University in Perm was part of RWB’s extensive educational programme. To date, the company has signed cooperation agreements with over 60 universities nationwide.
