As of July 1st 2012, over 8000 authors have published their papers in the Social Science Research Network (SSRN). This number includes 150 members of the HSE staff.

Science and Technology Indicators in the Russian Federation

The data book is the continuation of the series of publications on various aspects of S&T and innovation development in the Russian Federation. It presents statistical data reflecting the current state and trends in R&D and innovation. A specific chapter is devoted to international comparisons.

The data book presents the results of statistical innovation surveys in the Russian Federation.

Civil Society: Competition of Ideas and Interests

On June 19th Charles Buxton, manager of regional programmes in Central Asia and post-Soviet countries of the International NGO Training & Research Centre — INTRAC, spoke at the HSE on ‘Civil Society at a Crossroads: View from the Development Sector’ at a seminar organized by the HSE Center for Studies of Civil Society and Nonprofit Sector (CSCSNS).

Innovative Time Machine (Made in Germany)

On June 18th 2011, a round-table discussion on ‘Energy-efficiency innovations in the service of society: implemented experience of municipal management and innovative exploitation of city services using the example of Germany (Muenchen Nord metropolis, city of Unterschleissheim)’ took place at the HSE Institute of Real-Estate Economics.

Education in Figures: Pocket Data Book

The pocket data book contains main indicators characterizing trends in the development of preschool, general education, lower and secondary vocational education as well as higher and postgraduate professional education in the Russian Federation. It covers also key education indicators for the OECD countries.

A 'Review of Sources and Quality of Statistics on International Migration in selected countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States', prepared by Olga Chudinovskikh, Director of the HSE Institute for Social Development Studies Center for Migration Policy, has been published by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.

‘The Idea is to Produce Excellent Researchers’

The International Laboratory for Educational Policy Research has been working at the HSE for more than a year. Its academic supervisor, Stanford University professor Martin Carnoy told us about the results of this year’s research, their forthcoming plans and the future of the laboratory.
